Fields of action

According to its mission statement the Swiss Biodiversity Forum intends to: 

• foster progress in research on biodiversity, its origins and its development, its value, risk factors and options for conservation and sustainable use

• support the dialogue between biodiversity research and policy

• synthesize research results and distribute them widely

• provide scientific support for the development and implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity

• strengthen biodiversity issues in education, politics and society

• call people's attention to the beauty and value, but also to the threat and possibilities of biodiversity conservation and promotion
