Duration: 3 years

Salary: According to the guidelines of the Swiss National Science Foundation

Project description: The PhD-studentship is part of the project «WATER CHANNELS – The traditional irrigation culture using water channels as model system for sustainable water
management» in the National Research Programm «Sustainable Water Management». The PhD-student will assess the biodiversity of differently irrigated meadows in the Alps (mainly in the cantons Valais and Grison) using vascular plants and terrestrial gastropods as indicators.

Requirements: Diploma or Master degree in biology. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated student in ecology or conservation biology. Experience in determining vascular plants in alpine habitats is required.
